      September 4, 2018 at 6:15 pm I have it and am able to run it now, but prop seems too big maybe. I had a 2:1 before, was kind of hoping it was a 1.75:1 and I’d be ok.

      August 18, 2018 at 5:02 pm Hi all, I would really appreciate some advice on a new problem. I have a Caribbean (Bertram) 32 with twin 6BT and ZF 63A transmissions. Several months ago I had a shaft seal replaced on the port gearbox, replacing the fluid with Shell Spirax ATF. The boat hasnā€™t been used since then until yesterday. The transmission pressure was low and flickering but it would go in to both forward and reverse ok though I suspect at times I had some slippage.. T…

      May 30, 2018 at 8:12 pm I have been chasing down a possible transmission temp problem. does anyone know what the temp specs are??? After running 1/2 hour port side runs 130 degrees f the starboard runs 165 degrees f. some thoughts are sice one side is counter rotation it will run hotter???       August 4, 2018 at 10:59 am I removed the exhaust elbow from the turbo, the outlet(shower head design) was partly clogged with rust scale. I had a new end for the elbow with larger holes made, now after 1 hr of run time at 2400 RPM it still climbs to 195 & rising. Afraid to let it run hotter. The engine temp has dropped from 185 to 175. I straightened it out as best i can but I would like to replace it with a new one. Transmission pressure normal at start up, 343 PSI each gear. Putting the starboard in gear response is slow. 2-3 seconds or so from putting in gear to gear activating.       May 23, 2018 at 7:33 pm Hi Tony, Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, I’m now in NY and the boat is in Florida and I wont get back to her until June or July. Attached is a similiar photo from another post where I pointed to where I believe the leak is coming from. I put a piece of an oil pad and slipped it under the end cap and it became oily after running. I guess it’s possible the leak is from under the valve block?

      April 20, 2018 at 6:15 am If you are getting gear rattle or clatter above an idle, and especially above 1000 RPM, your torsional coupling is most likely ready to fail, or has completely lost its “damping qualities”, or both.. Yes, I would be concerned.. Only solution, slide back the gear or lift it out and replace it.. The starboard gear has a EB 30 controller, port has the EB 31 controller. The low pressure on the starboard gear led me to believe that I had a transmission problem.       December 21, 2017 at 6:42 pm My ZF285A transmission has a shift delay programmable through the Glendinning EEC3 control with a range of 0-2.5 seconds with a default of 1.0seconds. Nothing wrong with the transmissions. Things that make me go hmmm… What is the purpose of this delay? Why would one be inclined to change from the default of 1.0seconds and whatā€™s the reason 1.0 seconds is the default. Phil
