    After servicing the 2003 6BTAs, we also changed the transmission fluid and cleaned the strainers.  One of the strainers had a small metal chip in it, the other was fine.  Probably never had much service done in last 10 years so overall felt good about it.

    Changed the oil to SAE 30 as specified (which btw is extremely hard to read the level it’s so clean).   When running now I see some weeping around this control linkage.  It looks sort of rusty like the picture but I think that is just rust debris left over here.  No other signs of water ingress nearby.

    Question is, can this be fixed without taking apart the whole transmission, ie changing seal from the outside?  Unlikely but I guess I just watch the level and wipe it up as we go.

    Yes————-probably from rust–maybe just cleaning and new o-ring with grease will fix it

    Looks like you clean all initially, two small bolts and see what you have–Does not look scary at all

    The lever may be part of the relief valve, so it may be under spring tension when you remove it..
