    Hi.

I have a genset powered by a 1990 Yanmar 3hmfl-k diesel engine. When I started it up after 4 months of storage, it ran for 3 or 4 minutes, then it died. I checked the Racor fuel filters and fuel supply, and both seemed fine. The diesel appears good and my mains are running fine off of the same fuel tank.
I removed the fuel filter canister and found that it was empty, and that fuel filter appeared fine.
So I tried to bleed the system and found that when i tried to pump the priming lever, nothing happened , so I cranked over the engine with the fuel line from the fuel feed pump to the filter cracked as the first step, and didn’t get any fuel spurting out.

In your opinion, should I replace the fuel feed pump, or do you think something else might be going on?
Thanks for any input in advance

Have you installed the outboard squeeze bulb?   If so what was the result?

Add a outboard type squeeze bulb to the fuel line just before the engine for testing/troubleshooting..
