ZF IRM 220A oil filter housing bracket snapped

This bracket snapped like a twig.

Should have never tried it, but wanted to clean the screen… oh well

Can you still buy this bracket?

Can it be welded?

Can I take the pump off via the 4 bolts? That would allow better access…

Any pointers are much appreciated!!! Nik in San Diego

Plenty about this  posted in  Tony’s Tips to “warn about this issue” 

Anyway, you are not is good shape at  all as if you can find a part, you are very lucky. Maybe off a used gear. Harbor Diesel ( Mike Vogt)  in Washington may have something? 

Take it all apart and then take good pics,  Send them to me..  “weld-able” very a big maybe
