This is a one wire alternator with a Tachometer provision.   No sensing wire. 

Field Wire May be connected to D+ through a diode if alternator is reluctant to output charge. 

Will not work with 3 post diode battery isolators.  See wiring instructions below. 

ALTERNATOR DRIVEN TACHOMETER TAKE NOTE:  Cummins has not used an alternator driven tach as part of their core architecture for decades.  Some boat builders will implement them.  There are many variants, we cannot confirm the Tachometer compatibility with our alternators and we do not typically offer refunds for alternators so order at your own risk.   If your Tach doesn’t work with a new alternator, our recommendation is to update to a mag pickup style tachometer which has been the Cummins standard since the early 1990’s.

Seaboard Marine stocks alternators for all of Cummins marine engine models. Cummins has supplied their engines with many styles of alternators over the years, but the most common are the Delco Remy 15SI, 19SI, 21SI, 22SI, 24SI & 28SI models.

We offer new alternators modeled after the world-class Delco Remy units with higher amperages & upgraded regulators along with our expertise and guidance to allow “Plug & Play” replacement – Our price for direct replacement or UPGRADED units cannot be touched when you want a hassle-free installation and a quality unit.

We also offer “kits” to upgrade from the very early Bosch K1, Prestolite / Motorola, and early Delco units that were used on the earliest Cummins B-Series engines. We speak the language of alternators well, and know the Cummins engines and DC power distribution on boats like no other!
